Gwynfa Camera Club is delighted to announce that Pixels 2010 will take place in Talbot Green Community Centre on Saturday 6th November, 2010, commencing at 2.30pm. (Doors open 1.45pm).

Our judge for this year will be:
Mr. Brian Swinyard MA ARPS EFIAP/b DPAGB BPE3* PPSA

The competition is open to all clubs and societies who are members of the Welsh Photographic Federation or the North Wales Photographic Association.
The entry fee remains unchanged at £8 per club.

A club entry consists of four digital photographs, two colour and two monochrome.
(Note: The competition is for clubs, not individual photographers).

The entry deadline is the 16^th October, 2010.

AWPF Pre Submission Workshop

An AWPF Pre-Submission Workshop will be held on Sunday 17 th October 2010 at Talbot Green Community Centre at 10.00.am. for all CANDIDATES who have submitted an application for the AWPF award which will be assessed on 7th NOVEMBER 2010.
Please Note that this Workshop is for APPLICANTS ONLY.Unfortunately it has not been possible to arrange a normal Panel Workshop in addition to the Quality Workshop which was held earlier this year.

Applicants must bring with them the following:

a) Their Panel of TWELVE PRINTS
b) At least TEN additional prints, should weak or inappropriate images be found the panel.

Prints may be either A4 or A3 and can be mounted or un-mounted.

Applicants are reminded that ALL Images must be of a high standard and work together as a cohesive panel on a selected theme. Judges like to see different themes, but this does NOT mean that a panel of images taken on Mount Everest for example, will be successful. The panel of images must still be of a high quality and represent your chosen theme.

Results of ‘Warwick’

The PAGB Inter Club Digital Projected Images championship was held at Warwick University Arts Centre on Saturday 17 July.

The two WPF clubs competing were Tenby and Gwynfa – being the top two clubs in February’s WPF Ace of Clubs competition.
There were 37 clubs taking part from 15 UK federations and each club had their own band of jovial supporters, which made for a real fun day.

The first two rounds consist of two groups of 8 images and at the end of the first round the top 8 clubs go through to the Darwin Clayton Trophy. The remainder submit 8 images for the Plate competition.
Smethwick were the overall winners pipping Wigan 10 by one point ( a very close result). Both Welsh clubs went forward to the Plate competition which was won by Worksop & District PS with 104 points.
Tenby scored 96 points and Gwynfa 99 making them joint 5th again their best ever result at Warwick .

Both clubs are to be congratulated on their performance and for flying the flag of the WPF so admirably.

One Gwynfa member was overheard to say that his club had come very close to Wigan 10 – when asked to elaborate he said ; ” Wigan 10 were in row M and we were in row L”

PAGB Inter-Print Championship

Congratulation to Bridgend and Swansea Clubs on being chosen to compete in the PAGB Inter-print Championship.

The Club Print Championship will be held at Deeside College Connahs Quay in Flintshire on Saturday 23rd October 2010 starting at 10.00 a.m.

WPF Convention at Lampeter

The federation have been successfully running a convention at Lampeter for many years.
It always provides a weekend of great photography, congenial company, good food and plenty of ideas.

Why not come along as an individual or with a group of friends and see what you’ve been missing!

I would first like to say a massive thank you to everyone who generously sponsored me in my run/walk.

Between us my daughter Jackie and I raised £1500 for Cancer. This was great, and I have a picture of us both after the race, looking very pleased with ourselves!!

Jenny also won a Judges Medal at Celbridge International.

She also got 4 accepted at Rushden and one of them, Dipper, won a Ribbon.

Well done Jenny.

Annual Stanley Chell Print Competition

WELCOME BACK

The Aberdare Camera Club will be holding the 2010 Stanley Chell Print
Competition on Saturday, November 20th, at St Fagan’s Church Hall, Trecynon,
Aberdare. The judge will be Mr Terrick E. Meakin ARPS, APAGB.

Full details of the Competition will be sent to all WPF Club Secretaries in August.
